3D Computer Animation SCQF Level 8

An advanced qualification to prepare you for further study or employment in 3D computer animation.


Why take this course?

The aim of this course is to prepare students for employment in the 3D computer animation industry by developing skills in vocationally relevant software and hardware, developing current employment skills and expertise, and building a thorough understanding of the role of computer technology within TV, film making, the games industry and animation.

What you will experience

You will strengthen existing skills and broaden your knowledge of the creative industries. This course has been designed to you can develop a comprehensive understanding of the workflow and production process involved in 3D computer animation.

Entry requirements

Applicants should have at least two passes at Higher level, preferably including English, Art, Graphic Communication or Product Design; or have successfully completed a SCQF Level 6 course in a related subject area, e.g. Computer Arts & Animation or NPA in Digital Media; or have relevant work experience.

A Foundation Apprenticeship in any subject area will be considered equivalent as one unrelated Higher for entry to this course. A Foundation Apprenticeship in Creative and Digital Media will be considered equivalent to a subject related Higher. The additional Higher required for entry does not require to be subject related.

What you will need

You will have to provide your own A3 workbooks and backup storage device. You may also wish to have an A3 portfolio case for storing/carrying your work.
