This course gives you the opportunity to build industry standard skills in fabrication and welding.
Why take this course?
On this course you will build industry standard skills in fabrication and welding. You will develop a good understanding of different practices and techniques. On successful completion of the course will receive a National Certificate Group Award in Welding Practice.
What you will experience
You will learn how to perform vital processes including Metal Active Gas (MAG) welding skills, Manual Metal Arc (MMA) welding skills and Tungsten Gas (TIG) welding skills. You will also perfect skills in thermal cutting, fabrication and CAD, whilst focusing on core aspects of working in this industry such as the use of IT, mathematics, communication and health and safety.
Applicants should have successfully completed a qualification at SVQ Level 2, with the addition of a Maths qualification for direct entry.
Alternatively, applicants should have National 5 Maths at grade C or D.
