Why take this course?

This course will introduce you to practical electrical/electronic installation, maintenance and testing skills through hands-on work, demonstrations, continuous assessment and project work.

You will learn how to recognise materials and processes and utilise these to effectively meet current and future engineering trends.

Successful completion will allow you to gain a competence-based SVQ qualification.

What you will experience

You will develop essential skills in wiring and testing electrical circuits and programmable controller based systems, and in the maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.

You will learn how to work efficiently, effectively and safely in an engineering environment and develop a good understanding of electronic testing and manufacturing, and how to operate Programmable Logic Controllers.
