English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Pre-intermediate Broadly comparable to SCQF Level 4
For speakers of other languages who want to improve their English language capabilities in Aberdeen and the surrounding area.
Why take this course?
This course is aimed at speakers of other languages settled in Aberdeen and the surrounding area who want to improve their English language capabilities to study in further or higher education, enhance their employment prospects or simply communicate more easily.
Full-time ESOL course is offered at 3 levels:
- Beginners/Elementary - SCQF Level 3
- Pre-Intermediate (B1) - SCQF Level 4
- Intermediate (B2) - SCQF Level 5
What you will experience
You will strengthen your reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in English for every day, professional and academic contexts. This will ensure you are confident and able in your communications.
Key topics of citizenship, employability, enterprise and the use of information technology will also be explored.
All applicants should be literate in their first language. Prior to the course commencing, all applicants are tested and placed in classes according to their level of English.
Please note that if you require a study visa you must provide an English language evidence in the form of an SELT (Secure English Language Test) from an approved provider.
