This course will build on your current abilities and strengths, and encourage you to work more independently as a beauty therapist.
Why take this course?
This course is aimed at those who have been successful in the VRQ Level 1 Diploma in an Introduction to the Hair & Beauty Sector (Beauty Route), or those who are already working in the industry but want to accredit their skills and knowledge.
The course will strengthen existing skills and provide progression opportunities for those who want to move on to the Level 3 Diploma or pursue employment in a supervisory or technical role.
What you will experience
You will learn about client care and communication, promoting products and reception duties. Practical skills in a range of areas will ensure you can effectively provide facial skin care, manicure and pedicure, nail enhancements, make-up, eyelash and brow, and skin tanning treatments.
You will also develop an understanding of dermatitis prevention and learn what it’s like to work in the industry, whilst completing Core Skills in Working with Others (INT 1) and Communication (INT 1/2).
Applicants should have successfully completed the VRQ Level 1 Diploma in an Introduction to the Hair & Beauty Sector (Beauty Route) or an equivalent course and have a minimum of three National 5, Intermediate 2 or Standard Grade Credit level qualifications, or appropriate life/work experience.
Good communication skills, a willingness to learn new practical skills and working with the general public are essential qualities for this course.
