This vocationally-focused qualification is designed to develop your culinary skills and techniques so that you are working at an advanced level – ready for entering the workplace as a confident and able professional.

What you will experience

You will learn to produce high level dishes using vegetables, meat, poultry, game, fish and shellfish, whilst studying practical gastronomy and food safety in depth. You will also build on your supervisory skills – essential for effective and efficient work in a professional kitchen environment.

Entry requirements

This course is suitable for those who have National 5, Intermediate 2 or Standard Grade Credit level qualifications that have completed a related course such as Professional Cookery.

Applications are also welcomed from those who have worked for a chef for some time and have a lot of experience in the industry, but want to further develop their skills and abilities.

Please note that this course is not suitable for school leavers.
