SCQF Level 5
This nationally recognised qualification will increase your understanding of scientific principles and practice.
Why take this course?
This course will increase your understanding of scientific principles and practice, and is aimed at those who have limited formal qualifications in science.
A particularly large amount of the course will involve stimulating practical activities, experiments and laboratory work ensuring the course is exciting, engaging and informative.
What you will experience
The course will cover a broad range of science topics including chemistry, biology, microbiology and physics. You will also develop essential maths and numeracy skills, whilst strengthening your investigative capabilities.
It is not necessarily essential to hold previous qualifications in science subjects, but you should enrol on a course which matches your experience and ability. Science is an academically demanding subject, and your previous qualifications should indicate that you will be comfortable studying at SCQF Level 5. This could be illustrated by holding Standard Grade (General 3), Intermediate 2 or National 5 (grade C) qualifications in relevant subjects.
