Entry to the Uniformed Services Level 2 Broadly comparable to SCQF Level 5

This course is for those who aspire to work in the uniformed services, such as the Police, Army, Navy, Air Force, Fire Brigade or Prison Service.

Overview

Why take this course?

Develop your knowledge and strengthen essential skills and personal attributes required by the uniformed services. This will be done through a range of challenging and realistic activities, such as team work activities and some adventurous training.

What you will experience

You will visit some of uniformed services establishments, such as a local fire station, police station, HMP YOI Grampian, Army etc, where you will get to meet and talk with serving members of the uniformed services. See first–hand what their job roles are and the different types of career opportunities are available. There will be opportunities for some work experience with one or two of the uniformed services along with organised activities. You will also experience some outdoor activities such as land navigation, orienteering and expedition training.

Entry requirements

Applicants should ideally have National 5, Intermediate 1 or Standard Graded General qualifications, preferably including English. Appropriate life or work experience will also be considered as a suitable entry requirement.
